Puerto Plata Teleferico (Cable Car) Fortaleza Castillo San Felipe (Historic Castle)

I was amazed at the beautiful site and beaches at Puerto Plata.

The cable car reminded me of Rio De Janeiro when I went on the cable car they have at the Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar).

From the Teleferico your at 2,565 feet above sea level and can see a beautiful panoramic view of whole Puerto Plata and enjoy the Christ statue when you reach the top. I was amazed by such beauty and it’s much higher versus the 1,300 of the Sugarloaf from Rio De Janeiro.

Also visited the Fortaleza de San Felipe in Puerto Plata, jeez I can't even begin to explain what a beautiful site and the beaches there are great, with little reefs that you can see at times colorful fishes swimming around.

My friends if you ever go to Santiago this is a must go.. its only about 40 minutes from Santiago and about 2 hours away from Jarabacoa.

This is the view from the House where I stayed at. What an amazing site, waking up in the morning looking over the mountains with the smell of fresh coffee brewing and the fresh breeze of air blowing…

It was not a five star hotel but it was a warm, cozy, humble home with a great family that I stayed at for less than I would pay at a resort, however while really experiencing the beautiful view, rivers and mountains and culture at Jarabacoa.

The house had a bathroom, bedroom, bed, clean water and etc. Very basic not the most fancy but what the hell I was not there to have a US/fancy experience, I was there for DR (Dominican) experience.

Amazing Rivers and Town Of Jarabacoa (Lindos Rios y Pueblo)

I’m an enthusiast of natural beauty. I’m sharing some of the pictures I took while on a trip to Dominican Republic to the town of Jarabacoa located in La Vega. This trip was on April 2013

I chose not to do the resort thing because I wanted to experience the true culture of Dominican Republic and also enjoy the beautiful places, food and mingle with the locals.

I know you hear stories or wonder is it safe? Well in current times in the world are we really safe anywhere? Let you decide on that answer.

Is not about what is safe or not, as I tell people I know. Going to New York City or Washington D.C to the wrong places can be dangerous. In saying this is about staying in the right places, with the right people while enjoying site seeing, the culture, the food, music and interacting with the locals while being safe and having a great time.
